The AHPs for the West Midlands facility are being delivered to the site for processing by local operators such as Greener Options, regional operators such as Trust Hygiene and Green Bottoms as well as national commercial waste operators, including PHS All Clear, Initial Rentokil, OCS/Cannon Hygiene and SCRL. These operators collect this waste from washrooms, hospitals, elderly nursing facilities and child care nurseries and were some of the first to recognize the need to improve sustainability for themselves and their customers. Read what some of our customers say about the Knowaste opportunity:
Specialist Services Divisional Director at OCS, said: “The operational opening of the Knowaste plant represents true progress for all organisations that collect absorbent hygiene waste. “We are now able to move forward with improved sustainability, meeting both the business aims of OCS/Cannon Hygiene and many of our customers.
“This Knowaste technology is setting us on a new path environmentally and we look forward to recycling greater quantities of AHP waste both in the Midlands and across the UK as more Knowaste facilities emerge.”
|Mark Smith, Commercial Director of Green Bottoms; “Green Bottoms has been processing disposable nappy/diapers, feminine hygiene and adult incontinence products waste with Knowaste since it started operations in the UK. All of Green Bottoms nationwide collected wastes are processed with Knowaste and we offer our customers a more sustainable disposable option; in turn, our customers can promote the environmental benefits to their staff, customers and communities. Families looking to place their children in a nursery are looking for a home-from-home service, and a nursery that cares for the environment sends out such a positive message “|
