Knowaste - Working With You

Knowaste is dedicated to helping people find out more about how to recycle nappies and what they can do in their own lives to help encourage the processes to be put in place.

Nappies and other personal hygiene products are among the few remaining household goods that go straight to landfill, incinerator or composting facilities.

As a result, we are currently conducting a survey with Mother & Baby magazine and www.askamum.co.uk to discover parents attitudes to nappy recycling and how it could be rolled out in the UK.

We will be publishing the results of the survey before the end of the year. If you would like to find out more about this please email here

More than 750,000 tonnes of nappy waste is disposed of every year in the UK – enough to fill eight Wembley Stadiums. This is equivalent to 8million disposable nappies used every day across the country – all of which is sent to landfill.

Nappies are also among the last household products that are sent to landfill without having any part of them recycled.

We, the undersigned, say it should be possible to offer nappy recycling alternatives.

We request the UK Government commits to providing such options to homes across the country in line with other recycling initiatives.
